Ravon woke up and Quinella was already up and about. Ravon looked around and heard the shower running. Looking up at the ceiling caused Ravon to realize that he was in London instead of his apartment in Chicago. Quinella came out of the bathroom with a white towel wrapped around her head to dry her hair and nothing else.

“Nice outfit,” Ravon quipped.

“Very funny, I’ve got to get to work today. Our first show in the West End is tonight. Rehearsal is at two o’clock and the show is at eight. I’ve got to focus. The last thing I want to do is flop on stage. Josephine Baker and Dorothy Dandridge performed there. I’m not saying I’m up to their level. I’m just a country bumpkin from east Texas, but I will do my best,” Quinella said.

“You really are nervous, aren’t you, but it’s more than the show tonight, isn’t it,” Ravon asked.

Quinella pulled on her robe and sat on the edge of the bed.

“I don’t want to end up back at home where I started with nothing. My album is coming out in two months and there is a long line of flops from the competition I won. Some people just look at winners from singing competition shows as old news when the next season starts and they forget the winner from the last season. I have to find a way to keep that from happening to me. There are a lot of people back home waiting on me to fall on my ass so they can say I told you so,” Quinella said.

“Well, I know it’s not about talent or your voice. It’s going to be about your packaging and presentation. Do you know what sells in entertainment today, scandal,” Ravon said.

“Scandal?” Quinella said.

“You know. A leaked nude selfie or being caught in a compromising position with your lover all timed to generate media buzz at the right time,” Ravon said.

“Excuse me? I don’t know about doing something like that. It’s just not my nature,” Quinella said.

“Look, there is a ton of great talent out there and these shows are cranking out more of them every year. You have to cut through the clutter with something other than your voice. What if you get caught with your much younger lover at the right time before your album release?” Ravon said.

“By much younger lover, are you talking about yourself? We couldn’t do that. Our family and friends would disown us,” Quinella said.

“Not if they don’t know who I am and can’t see my face,” Ravon said.

“So you’re talking about staging a scandal. Would something like that work?” Quinella said.

“You have to keep your name hot. People are easily distracted with so much going on these days,” Ravon said.

“I’ll think about it,” Quinella said.

“It’s a good idea,” Ravon said.

“What are you going to do while I’m rehearsing?” Quinella asked.

“I think I’ll hang around here, take a bath in the whirlpool tub and get a massage in the spa,” Ravon said.

“Have fun while I go out there and try and make a living,” Quinella said.
